Meet Luke

All about Luke

Luke is a 3 years, 6 months-old male german shepherd (or mix). He weighs in at 79 pounds and has been with us for 191 days.

Luke is a bit nervous in the shelter. He walks better with another dog so might enjoy having a calm friend in his new forever home. He acts like he may not have had much experience inside, but quickly sticks close to the person handling him and looks to you for guidance and comfort. He walks well on leash and takes treats nicely. He's going to do best in a home where the owners live in a quieter neighborhood and they have the time to expose him to sights, sounds, and new places slowly.

He's a nice dog who just needs a chance to come out of his shell so he can shine. Does that sound like something you would do? If so, apply for Luke today. If you're interested in bringing home Luke with a friend, his buddy Kermitt is here as well looking for a new home.

He is heartworm positive and will be receiving treatment at MLAR. The treatment is paid for and if you bring him home before it's finished all you have to do is foster him, bring him for his appointments and keep him a bit calm till the recovery period is done then adopt. Contact us for more information.
